❄️ Day 20: Sledding
Onyx Coffee Lab - Burundi Gaharu Hill
I learned what sledding is.
Cold and unstable.
Not worth it.
Some things clearly weren't made for cats. Sledding is one of them. No control, no dignity, no point. Fortunately, there are also things that always work—coffee. And today's coffee, at least, isn't trying to kill me.
☕ Today's Coffee — Burundi Gaharu Hill
Today's cup features coffee from Burundi—a small but very specific country when it comes to specialty coffee. The beans come from the Gaharu Hill region and are part of the Long Miles Coffee project, which relies on the work of local farmers and communal coffee processing at washing stations.
🌍 Origin
The hills of Burundi are where coffee grows high, ripens slowly, and leaves no room for chance. Gaharu Hill is one of the more renowned areas, with cherries going to the Bukeye and Heza washing stations—key points for the local community of producers.
🌿 Coffee Details
- Country: Burundi

💧 Washed Processing
Cherries are hand-selected, fermented without pulp, then thoroughly washed and dried on raised beds. The result is a clean cup, distinct acidity, and a clear profile.
🐾 Teodor's Epilogue - Stability Test
The sled was unstable.
The snow was hostile.
Gravity had malicious intentions.
This coffee, however: warm, predictable, and didn't try to throw me down a hill. 5/5. I'd recommend it to anyone who values safety and a lack of sudden plot twists.
