As written by the roastery:
This coffee marks the beginning of a collaboration we've long dreamed of: our first beans sourced in partnership with LaREB (La Real Expedición Botánica).
LaREB is a truly unique project in Colombia — the only completely independent supplier operating directly from the farm level. They cultivate, process, finance, taste, and export their coffees themselves, eliminating unnecessary intermediaries and allowing terroir, craftsmanship, and tradition to speak for themselves in the cup.
This lot comes from Fincas 575, LaREB's own farm in northern Tolima, and showcases the CR-95 variety. It is a coffee built on patience and moderation, where the processing serves to enhance rather than overwrite the coffee's character.
Sweet, clean, and deeply comforting — this is a natural coffee that offers a sense of thoughtful finesse, rather than ostentation. Exactly the kind of seasonal lot we love.
CR‑95 is an Arabica variety from the Catimor line, bred in Costa Rica, valued for its disease resistance and stable yield, while maintaining a clean and sweet flavor profile.
Processing:
This coffee was produced using LaREB's "natural-de-siempre" approach — a modern interpretation of the traditional natural process, executed with the utmost care and precision.
Only overripe fruits are selected for processing, which are then subjected to 72 hours of fermentation in their husks, in sealed containers, creating a controlled, anaerobic environment.
Drying takes place in a greenhouse for approximately 45 days, followed by a two-week stabilization stage. This slow and delicate process helps preserve sweetness, enhance mouthfeel smoothness, and maintain exceptional clarity for a natural coffee.
The result is a coffee with an exceptionally high score in terms of sweetness, body, cleanliness, and complexity, while retaining elegance and balance.
Packaging:
