Belgian Roasting Champion 2025 Blend Natural Washed

As the roastery writes:

This coffee is a breakthrough moment for us.

In December, Benjamin won first place in the inaugural Belgian Roasting Championship, organised alongside the official return of the Belgian SCA chapter. This victory is hugely significant for us: Belgium is back on the global coffee roasting scene, and we will represent the country at the World Coffee Roasting Championship next June.

One of the key elements of the competition was an unusual format — instead of a single origin, a competition blend was required. Participants received three green coffees:

• natural Ethiopia,

• natural Brazil,

• washed Rwanda,

with the rule that each had to constitute at least 10% of the final blend.

After sample roasts, tastings, and cuppings of all components, the decision became clear. The most expressive, balanced, and exciting cup was created thanks to a bold choice:
a pre-blend of 80% Rwanda, supported by 10% Ethiopia and 10% Brazil.
This is the composition that won.

The coffee you hold in your hands is as faithful a recreation of the competition entry that secured first place as possible — with the difference that this time it was roasted on our own Typhoon roaster.
The same premise. The same balance. The same approach.

You'll notice one thing that's missing here: flavor notes.

We deliberately named this coffee "Unknown Flavor". During the championship, all coffees were judged completely blind, without any descriptions that could suggest or guide perception. We wanted to maintain that spirit here too — inviting you to taste without expectations or preconceptions.

Let's just say this: it's a lighter roast, very expressive and fruity, built around clarity, sweetness, and pure pleasure.
