Origin:
The Nuevo Oriente region in eastern Guatemala is known for its mineral metamorphic soils and cool, rainy climate, which ensure slow fruit ripening and high bean density. Coffee is grown at altitudes of 1300–1700 m above sea level, mainly on small family farms, where traditional and sustainable practices are continued. One of the key companies in the region is Counisa, which has been involved in coffee production, processing, and export since 1988 and participates in the national Cup of Excellence jury.
