This exceptional lot comes from Finca Santa Monica farm – a small farm covering just 1.25 ha, located at an impressive altitude of 2150 m above sea level in the Amaybamba valley (Cusco, Peru).

Producer Hugo Mariño, distinguished in the prestigious Cup of Excellence competition, cultivates coffee here using traditional agroforestry practices. The farm grows the rare SL9 Geisha Inca variety – a local mutation of Ethiopian heirloom varieties.

Thanks to the extreme altitude of cultivation and the complex genetics of the variety, the sensory profile of this coffee is elegant, juicy, and exceptionally clean. In the cup, bright, distinct acidity reminiscent of blackcurrant and a subtle sweetness of white peaches dominate. The body of the brew is light and fluid, and the whole is crowned by a sophisticated, textural aftertaste bringing to mind a clear black tea infusion.

Thanks to the Omni roast profile, this lot offers great versatility in preparation. When brewed with pour-over methods, it delights with its transparent and subtle character, where the delicacy of peaches and the fresh acidity of currants are particularly pronounced. When extracted as espresso, the coffee takes on a more intense and concentrated character – the fruity sweetness becomes deeper, the body silky, and the black tea note perfectly emphasizes the denser structure of the brew.
