Ethiopia Keramo Washed, a classic from Dutch roaster Shokunin
Flavor notes: Jasmine, Peach, Caramel, Earl Grey
Like all Shokunin coffees, this is an Omniroast, although we brew everything from them in a filter.
Keramo Washed is a classic specialty coffee from Ethiopia (Bensa, Sidama), sourced from the Daye Bensa cooperative and grown at a very high altitude of around 2400 meters above sea level. Thanks to the washed process, the profile is clean, elegant, and very tea-like, with distinct sweetness and excellent clarity.
In the cup, you'll find delicate notes of jasmine, peach, and caramel, combined with the characteristic accent of Earl Grey black tea. The coffee is juicy, subtly floral, and very balanced, with a smooth, clean finish.
This is a very "clean Ethiopia" – subtle, elegant, and ideal for pour-overs, where it best showcases its structure and delicate fruitiness.
It will work great in pour-over methods, such as a dripper, Chemex or AeroPress, where it best expresses its freshness and elegance.
