Kenya Gloria Ruby Peaberry Washed by Dutch Roastery Shokunin
Flavor notes: Jasmine, Blackcurrant, Black Tea.
Like all Shokunin coffees, this is an Omniroast, although we brew everything from them as filter coffee.
Kenyan specialty coffee from the Nabiswa region, produced from SL28 and Ruiru 11 varietals. The beans underwent a full washed process – carefully selected, fully ripe fruits fermented for three days (3 × 24 hours), then dried on raised beds, which allowed for the preservation of the profile's purity and precision.
In the cup, elegant jasmine aromas and juicy blackcurrant sweetness dominate. The whole is complemented by a soft, slightly tea-like body reminiscent of black tea.
The omniroast profile means this coffee will perform well in both pour-over methods (V60, Chemex, drip), where it will highlight its clarity and fruity structure, and in espresso, offering distinct acidity and a clean, long finish. This is a balanced, multifaceted proposition for lovers of classic Kenyan flavors in a modern interpretation.
