Dark fruits, chocolate and a smooth whiskey note. A limited edition aged in a barrel with a cherry accent that enhances the natural depth of coffee from the El Eden valley.
Cherry Barrel is a unique, limited edition of the Peru El Eden series. The base batch, known for its syrupy body and notes of blackberries, black cherries, and chocolate, rested for several weeks in a whiskey barrel. The wood and residual distillate imparted a subtle, liqueur-like character to the coffee, which perfectly complements its dark fruit profile.
The barrel aging method doesn't overpower – it elegantly highlights what's natural in this coffee: cherries, chocolate, and plum sweetness. The result is a barrel-aged coffee that is balanced, clean, and surprisingly smooth.
What does it taste like?
In the cup, you'll find notes of cherries, black cherries, plums, grapes, and chocolate, complemented by a delicate hint of whiskey and an association with Mon Chérie pralines.
The body is round and syrupy, and the finish is long, warming, and exceptionally clean.
